Clash Artifacts of Chaos plays like a Dark Souls

The success of the many Souls games of From software has led to developers tried to reproduce the brand game design of the Japanese studio. Clash: Artifacts of Chaos from the Zeno Clash manufacturer Ace Team is one of the more lively and more inspiring versions of the Fromsoft formula, thanks to the developer, who picks up aspects from a series of different games and genres and brings them together to something that feels really fresh.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is a third-person action role-playing game in which you cross a linear, networked environment full of fatal creatures, secret treasures and hidden secrets. However, instead of swinging swords or hammers, the player -controlled main character Pseudo uses a variety of fighting styles to beat their opponents with their bare hands.

These styles work similarly to the characters in fighting games that all have different strengths. The combat styles include a combination of large pounds over the head, far -fitting attacks, to catch several enemies, rapid punching and bumps with a larger range that can keep enemies at a distance.

As you explore, you can switch between these combat styles to adapt your struggle to the type of enemy against which you are fighting and, if necessary, move in the middle of the fight between the styles.

By naturally equipped with all these different types of attacks in the course of the game, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos eliminates some of the frustrations that can end up with the hardcore RPG-Souls-Likes. Whether Bloodborne or other games like NIOH, as soon as you start leveling a weapon, feel bound to this build because you have already invested a considerable amount of resources in it.

But because Clash gives you the freedom to change the style whenever you want, it means that you can experiment more with the fighting of the game than in others.

It opens the door to spend more time with diversifying your arsenal instead of putting all your upgrades and experiences in a single weapon, which is quite a deviation from the norm.

Every struggle felt like a duel when the creature in front of me and I competed against each other, and I started to understand which attacks were suitable for every enemy type. Fast vertebrae failed against wild opponents who were bulky and strong, so I switched to one of the combat styles that focused on heavy attacks.

And then, when I competed against more than one enemy, I was in a significant disadvantage. Wide sweeps that can meet several enemies and keep them at a distance enabled me to realign me and separate the enemies from each other. From there I was able to attack to attack you and quickly avoid the other or the consequence of the same enemy.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos - Reveal Trailer | PS5, PS4

The gameplay loop that I experienced during my 40-minute playing through an early level was captivating, and while the fight initially felt a little shaky, when I dealt with Clash, I started to really enjoy it, the mysterious To explore the world of Ace Team and learns how this type of fight works.

I am looking forward to returning to this world, which is full of secrets and strange creatures, all of which are portrayed in a unique, sketch -like art style.

We have now reached the point where the uniqueness and novelty take over the soul formula, which really helps to play the genre, and Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is different from any other game in this genre. His unique art style, non-world environments and the mixture of fighting games, tactical fights and the from software approach for level design make me curious about more.

If you are not yet aware of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, you should do it. It develops into one of the more unique rotations of the action RPGs in Dark Souls style. It stands out because it draws so much from so many different genres and styles, and I can hardly wait to see what the team was otherwise hiding in the strange world of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos when it was up in November 2022 PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC.
